Dr. Charlotte Ord
Counselling Psychologist & Psychotherapist
My Approach
In my experience, most people face psychological difficulties from time to time. Life can be tough, and if you feel like you or someone you know is struggling at the moment, or perhaps has been for a while, it may be that I can help.

As a registered counselling psychologist based in Guildford, Surrey, I offer a safe, supportive and confidential space for you to explore the challenges you are facing. I understand that it can be difficult to talk about personal thoughts and feelings, and I recognise the importance of developing a strong therapeutic relationship so that together we can help you move forward more happily.

I believe that there is no one psychological approach that suits everyone, and I draw on a range of psychological concepts and psychotherapeutic techniques to discover what works best for you. I consider our bodies to be a key tool in healing and approach therapy from a 'bottom up', sensorimotor perspective where we tap into the body's physiological and sensory wisdom, as well as a 'top down' perspective where we explore cognitive experience and emotional processing.

About me
I have a doctorate in Counselling Psychology from Regent’s University, London, a BSc in Applied Psychology and Sociology from the University of Surrey, am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society and an HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist.

Having worked in the health and fitness arena for over a decade, I have a strong interest in the mind-body connection and particularly how this relates to our body image and relationship with food.
I have worked across both public and private sectors in pain management, physical rehabilitation, and eating disorders. I currently work in private practice, and have consulted for an array of organisations on health related issues, including the BBC, Sky News, ITV, The Guardian, The Times and Tescos.
Location
My premises are conveniently located at The Practice consulting rooms at 210 High Street, Guildford, Surrey.
The clinic is situated a few minutes walk from Tunsgate car park and is a fifteen minute walk from Guildford train station.
I also provide online sessions via Zoom.
Appointments & Fees
Prior to your first appointment, it may be useful for us to have a discussion, either via email or 15 minute telephone consultation, so that I can answer any questions you have and find out a little bit about the issues you are facing. A good fit between you, your therapist and the type of therapy provided is very important, and if I am unable to offer you the most appropriate service for your needs I can recommend other options.
Ethics
I adhere to the Code of Conduct and Ethics of the British Psychological Society as well as the HCPC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
